Guide to Oslo 's Natural History Museum and Botanical gardens

The history of Oslo 's universe

Oslo is a place that is obsessed with the past. The Norwegian capital is home to over 50 museums dedicated to everything from Viking conquerors to inspirational writers, and is filled with weird and wonderful exhibitions to entertain and educate young and old alike. There is also the usual quota of 'mandatory museums'. Oslo 's version of the Natural History Museum and Botanical Gardens are located in the grounds of Tøyen Manor, a charming area situated next to the Munch Museum. The museums have lectures and guided tours going on all the time, so if you're dying to know about how ape became man or fish became beast, this is the place to head. There are plants(1,800 different species) in the botanical gardens, animals from Norway and beyond in the Zoological Museum, and bones and stones(respectively) at the Mineralogical and Geological Museums. As well as museums, there are beautiful grounds that are perfect for a relaxing stroll. This Website gives a brief synopsis of each attraction, with further information just a click away.
