Most people feel their safari is complete when they have spotted the big five - lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros buffalo, but there are always some hungry for more. Nairobi 's Carnivore restaurant specialises in game, so if you fancy a hartebeest steak, a giraffe burger, or have ever wondered what crocodile tastes like(no doubt 'similar to chicken') this is the place to head.
The meat is roasted over a large charcoal pit, then skewered onto Masai swords, giving the place a lively and primal atmosphere(there's also a full vegetarian menu). To wash all this down the bartenders make some mean cocktails, their favourite being a Dawa(which translates as something between magic potion and medicine.enough said).
The adjoining Simba Salon hosts the capitals hottest nightclub, with an infectious disco, and live music from the likes of Yellowman and Saliff Keta. It's also host to the worryingly titled Cybervore internet café - where you can catch up on your emails or send a customised epostcard home.
