Arriving in Tokyo

Narita is Tokyo 's international airport, located 80km north-east of the capital. Two bus services, the Airport Limousine Bus and the Airport Express Bus run hourly from outside the customs exit to the city centre.

A faster option is to catch the train, leaving from Narita Airport Train Station. Taxis are extortionate, and most are unwilling to fork out the ¥20,000, bearing in mind the traffic congestion.

Haneda is Tokyo 's domestic airport. The best option for getting into the city is by monorail to Hamamatsucho Station. The service runs every five minutes. Taxis are much slower and cost approximately ¥6,000.
