Felucca: These Egyptian sail boats set off from the east-bank and cost roughly E£ 20 per hour. They provide a relaxing way to while away a few hours or a sunset. Longer trips can be negotiated, in theory it's a six-day sail to Aswan, although as it's upstream it may be wiser to set off from Aswan and travel downstream.
Taxi: Taxis are the easiest way of navigating Luxor. In theory taxis are metered, although the reality is different. You'll often find that the meter is often missing or switched off. Establish your fare before setting off.
Legwork: Central Luxor is relatively compact and most places of interest can be reached on foot. A half an hour stroll will take you to the temple complex at Karnak. Horse-drawn carriage( Kalesh): An interesting and at times romantic way to see the city.
Bicycles: can be rented from the Isis hotel for E£15 per hour.
